Desktop client 2.15: Stealth VPN

Maximilian Holm, about Products & features

The focus of this version has been to implement a long-awaited feature: Stealth VPN, also known as Obfuscation or VPN masking. Stealth VPN works by establishing a separate encrypted Shadowsocks proxy to the destination server, through which the VPN connection establishes its VPN connection, conveniently hiding your VPN use by masking it as something else. Stealth VPN works with both WireGuard and OpenVPN, as well as with any add-on we offer. It does not, however, work in combination with Split Tunneling.

List of changes in v2.15

  • New: Added a StealthVPN feature to further obfuscate VPN connections
  • Bug fix: Fixed some inconsistencies in architecture used on Mac Silicon
  • Improvement: Added help desk link for StealthVPN feature
  • Improvement: Moved some of the logic used from the client to the Daemon
