Telia has recently released a press release informing its customers of an extreme increase in the number of cases where different companies are requesting customer information. In the press release, they mention that during the past year alone they have received over 82,000 IP addresses belonging to customers in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
The press release also states that it is much worse than we originally feared. We originally wrote that Telia was recently forced to provide customer information of over 5,300 IP addresses. In their latest press release, they mention that as early as January they were forced to release customer information belonging to over 25,000 IP addresses.
Unfortunately, it still looks dark, and we fear that the proportion of such demands will only continue to increase.
