This version is focused on fixes and improvements to increase stability. This has been done through various improvements to the OVPN Daemon for all systems to make the process more streamlined and the code simpler.
List of changes in v2.11
- Bug fix: Selecting "Best" server to connect to in the client with Multihop will no longer connect a user to the same start- and end- server
- Bug fix: Fixed an issue where the tooltip for "Favorite locations" were incorrect after changing location
- Improvement: Client no longer disables IPv6 system-wide on Windows if disabled. Instead, it blocks IPv6 through WFP (Windows Filtering Platform)
- Improvement: OpenVPN control has been moved from the client to the OVPN Daemon
- Improvement: Improved various OVPN Daemon events
- Improvement: Moved IPv6 handling to the Daemon instead of client
- Improvement: Switched locations of the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons on the "Update" screen
- Improvement: Moved mac and Linux over to a new Daemon
- Improvement: Moved the Connect/Reconnect process from the client to the OVPN Daemon
- New: IPv4 and IPv6 address can now be copied by clicking on them
How can I update the desktop client?
- Launch client
- You will now see a notification pop up asking you if you wish to update to version 2.11.0
- Click
Yes
- Wait for the installation to finish and enter your password if asked for it
- Windows users must accept the Wintun driver installation
- As soon as the installation finishes, the new version will launch automatically.
If for some reason the online update fails
If something goes wrong, simply close the desktop client and install it manually.
