This is the monthly transparency report for November 2016. OVPN had no planned or unplanned interruptions during the month of November.
Summary
Our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5% during November. In total, OVPN encrypted and anonymized 1863 TB, which is slightly less than the traffic during the month of October.
During the month of November, we did not receive any requests from authorities. To date, we have never given out any customer data to a third party.
Below are the traffic and uptime statistics from our current datacenters. The empty gap in the graphs were caused by the monitoring system being down for a while. No actual server downtime took place.

Analysis
Our datacenter in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. However, during the month of November, the traffic load amounted to 1330 Mbit/s on average.
The highest traffic spike was 2850 Mbit/s, which is 28.5% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 2150 Mbit/s, meaning the traffic load was below 21.5% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.
In total, 430 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.
The Malmö datacenter had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of November.

OVPN upgraded the capacity in Stockholm under October from 10Gbit/s to 20Gbit/s. During the month of November, the average traffic load was 4210 Mbit/s.
The largest traffic spike recorded was 8320 Mbit/s, which represents 41.6% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 6140 Mbit/s, meaning the traffic load was below 30.7% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.
In total, 1.35 PB, meaning 1350 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.
The Stockholm datacenter had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of November.

We deployed our servers in Frankfurt on January 31st, meaning November is the 10th full month the servers have been running. The Frankfurt datacenter has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was a mere 257 Mbit/s on average in November.
The largest traffic spike recorded was 964 Mbit/s, which represents 9.6% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 446 Mbit/s, meaning the traffic load was below 4.6% of the maximum capacity for 95% of the time.
In total, a mere 83 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Frankfurt datacenter.
Frankfurt had an uptime of 99.5% during November.
