This is the monthly transparency report for June 2017. OVPN had one planned and two unplanned and service interruptions during the month of June.

Summary

For the month of June, our VPN servers had an uptime of over 99.5% during the month of June. In total, OVPN encrypted and anonymized 1844.6 TB of data.

During the month of June, we did not receive any requests from authorities. To date, we have never given out any customer data to third parties.

Below are the traffic and uptime statistics from our current data centers.

Analysis

Our data center in Malmö has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. During the month of June, the traffic load amounted to 1110 Mbit/s on average.

The highest traffic spike was 2570 Mbit/s, which represents 25.7% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 1870 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 18.7% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 352.8 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Malmö.

The Malmö data center had an uptime of over 99.5% during the month of June.

Analysis

In October 2016, OVPN upgraded its capacity in Stockholm from 10Gbit/s to 20Gbit/s. During the month of June, on average the traffic load was 4230 Mbit/s.

The largest recorded traffic spike was 11960 Mbit/s, which represents 59.8% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 6280 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 31.4% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 1.34 PB, meaning 1340 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized by the VPN servers in Stockholm.

The Stockholm data center had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of June.

Our data center in Frankfurt has a maximum capacity of 10 Gbit/s. However, during the month of June, the traffic load amounted to 234.3 Mbit/s on average.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 1290 Mbit/s, which represents 12.9.% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 399.2 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 4.0% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 74.2 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized in the Frankfurt data center.

Frankfurt had an uptime of 99.5% during the month of June.

We deployed our servers in Amsterdam in December 2016, making June the seventh month the servers have been running. The Amsterdam data center has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 174.1 Mbit/s on average in June.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 634.9 Mbit/s, which represents 21.2% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 313.8 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 10.5% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 55.2 TB of data was encrypted and anonymized in the Amsterdam data center.

Amsterdam had an uptime of 99.5% during June.

We deployed our servers in Toronto in December 2016, making June the seventh month the servers have been running. The Toronto data center has a maximum capacity of 3 Gbit/s. However, the traffic load was only 70.4 Mbit/s on average in June.

The largest traffic spike recorded was 339.8 Mbit/s, which represents 11.3% of the maximum capacity. The 95th percentile landed on 123.6 Mbit/s, meaning that 95% of the time, the traffic load was below 4.1% of the maximum capacity.

In total, 22.4 TB of traffic was encrypted and anonymized in the Toronto data center.

Toronto had an uptime of 99.5% during June.

WEB01 had an uptime of 99.97%, and an average response time of 82.83 ms in June.

Database

SQL01 had an uptime of 98.51%, and an average response time of 16.95 ms in June.
