This is the eight summary we publish that reports the amount of traffic passing through our servers, uptime and traffic spikes.
We had no planned downtime in May. However, we experienced a malfunction in Malmö due to a small fire in the data center. None of our hardware failed, and we returned to normal operation after 80 minutes. All VPN servers in Stockholm were available during the service interruption.

Summary
Our VPN servers in May maintained an uptime of at least 99.5%. We are working on load balancing our website to ensure that a malfunction on a web server does not cause any problem with our API.
Traffic increased 18.9% in May to 410 TB from the previous 410 TB in March.
OVPN continues to grow rapidly. In May, OVPN had a little over 2250 customers and by the end of May, OVPN has 2600 customers – a 15,6% increase!
OVPN is growing every month by 10-20% which makes it clear that our great focus on transparency and security is appreciated and that OVPN is a very competitive VPN provider.Even though OVPN continues to grow beyond expectations, we have a lot of capacity left to take in new customers and at the same time ensure high speeds for our current customers. We are able to handle and encrypt 20 Gbit/s today - even though we usually only use between 1.5 and 2.5 Gbit/s.
In previous summaries we have mentioned that we have planned expansion to more cities in Sweden. Unfortunately, this expansion has temporarily slowed down as we have not found any internet provider with reasonable prices that can handle our traffic volume and want a VPN service as a customer. We also plan to continue to expand to more cities in Sweden, but it will require a long dialogue with Internet providers.
As our volume of traffic is steadily increasing and we guarantee our customers not to overlook, we have started planning the purchase of additional servers for our existing data centers. At the end of the summer, we will launch eight new servers in Stockholm. We will thus expand our infrastructure 100% by moving from eight to sixteen servers.
In April we launched OVPNbox - a project that we wholeheartedly believe in. We sent the first delivery of boxes at the end of May. Orders continue to arrive and the next shipment will be sent within a few days. After that, we will have a delay on shipments until mid-July as some hardware component suppliers cannot guarantee delivery for a few weeks.
Summer has finally come to Sweden. This does not change much for us at OVPN as we will continue to provide excellent support to our customers. You will be able to call, email and chat with us throughout the summer.
